ANAgdb Goes Live, Offering Convenient Access to ANA-Grade Genomic Data

After three months’ continuous development, the ANAgdb (www.anagenome.cn) has officially launched, providing the scientific community with convenient access to a comprehensive multi-omics database dedicated to the early-diverging lineages of flowering plants known as the ANA-grade, which includes Amborellales, Nymphaeales, and Austrobaileyales.

The ANA-grade plants hold a key position at the base of the angiosperm phylogenetic tree, making them crucial for understanding the evolutionary origins and diversification of flowering plants. Despite their importance, comprehensive genomic and omics resources have been limited, hindering in-depth research in this area

The newly online ANAgdb addresses this gap by integrating detailed annotated genomes of six species across three orders, encompassing eleven genomes in total. Beyond genomic data, the database boasts a collection of taxonomic information, re-analyses of 269 RNA-Seq and small RNA-Seq datasets, and a gallery of research papers published in the last decade. Designed with user convenience in mind, ANAgdb features five hierarchically accessible functions including Genome, Transcriptome, miRNA, Taxonomy, and seven analytic tools. Through ANAgdb, we anticipate providing researchers the database to meticulously trace the evolutionary trajectory and genetic adaptations that have occurred since the dawn of flowering plants.
